What health bodies advise
The NHS, the US NIDDK, the 2021 ACG clinical guideline and Cleveland Clinic all list resting your feet on a low stool as part of good toileting posture.

Toilet stool
It raises your knees above your hips — the position the NHS suggests when going is hard. In a shape that can stay next to the bowl.

Set it by the bowl.
Whole foot down — heels on the stool.
Relax your stomach. Don't push.
Heels on the stool, not lifted — on raised heels the pelvic floor tightens (APTA Pelvic Health).

How it works
Sitting on a toilet, your knees sit roughly level with your hips. Put your feet higher and the angle between your torso and thighs closes, bringing your body closer to a squat.
That is the only thing this object does.
“To make it easier to poo, try resting your feet on a low stool while going to the toilet. If possible, raise your knees above your hips.”

Why this one
The most common complaint about toilet stools isn't how they work. It's how they look. One review of a leading brand is titled simply “Ugly”, and reads: “It looks like it belongs in a hospital.”
So people put them away. And a stool that's put away does exactly what no stool does — except it cost you money.
So we started with the shape. ARCA is built to stay where it's useful: next to the bowl, in plain sight, including when people come over.
Soft form. An arch, not a box. One piece, no screws, no seams.
Low profile. Tucks under the bowl.
Five colours. Chosen for bright bathrooms, not treatment rooms.
A bucket does exactly what ARCA does. For about two weeks.
Then it's in the way, someone puts it away, and nobody goes back to it. You're not paying us for the angle. You're paying for the thing staying put.
If you already stack books, a box or a bin under your feet — this is the same idea, in a form you can leave out.

In 52 healthy adults, average time per bowel movement fell from 5.6 to 4.2 minutes, and participants reported less straining and a better sense of emptying.

Caveat: the study was not randomised or blinded, and participants were healthy young doctors.
In 2023 a randomised trial of 41 people with constipation found that a footstool changed body position but did not shorten time or make going subjectively easier.

So we won't promise you an outcome. We promise a position — and 60 days to find out whether it makes a difference for you. If it doesn't, you send it back at our cost.
ARCA is not a medical device and is not intended to treat any condition. If symptoms persist, or you notice bleeding or a change in bowel habits, speak to a doctor.
Reviews
Instead of buying stars, we're sending the first 100 units to people who agree to write an honest review after 30 days — including a negative one. We publish all of them.
Negative and lukewarm ones too. No filtering, no hiding, no editing.
A review should say whether the stool stayed by the bowl — and you can't tell that on day one.
Every review from someone who got ARCA for free says so. No stars bought with discounts.
